About 20% of 8th graders and 58% of 12th graders in recent studies have reported being drunk at least once in their lives. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholics kids who start drinking before age 15 are four times more likely to have problems later on in life then those who wait to start drinking at 21. When kids start drinking so young they open themselves up to many health and other issues in life. They are more likely to abuse other drugs, be involved in accidents, homicides, suicides and be victims of violet crimes.
